Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and VidCarve ("we", "us", "our"), a transcript-based video editing service operated from India. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. You can reach a human at contact@vidcarve.com.

1. What the service does

VidCarve transcribes the video or audio you upload and lets you edit the video by editing that transcript — delete a sentence and the video loses those frames. It also offers filler-word cleanup, silence tightening, clip suggestions, chapters, captions, noise cleanup, voice overdub for corrections, and MP4 export.

Transcription, speaker labelling, clip selection and similar features are produced by automated machine-learning systems. They are useful but not perfect, and they can be wrong in ways that matter — a misheard word, a mislabelled speaker, a clip boundary in the wrong place. You are responsible for reviewing anything you publish. We do not warrant that transcripts or any other generated output are accurate.

2. Your account

  • You must give a real email address and verify it. Some features stay locked until you do.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your password to yourself.
  • One account per person. Creating extra accounts to reset free-plan limits is a breach of these terms.
  • You must be at least 18, or old enough to enter a binding contract where you live with the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • Tell us at contact@vidcarve.com if you think someone else is using your account.

3. Your content stays yours

You keep all rights in the media you upload and everything you export. We claim no ownership.

You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, transmit, transcode, transcribe, analyse and render your media strictly to run the service for you. This licence exists to make the product work and ends when you delete the content.

We do not sell your content, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train our own models.

4. What you may not upload or do

You may only upload media you own or have permission to use. In particular, you agree not to use the service to:

  • upload content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
  • upload unlawful content, including child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that incites violence or hatred;
  • clone or overdub a person’s voice without that person’s consent, or use generated speech to impersonate someone or to deceive;
  • publish edits that deliberately misrepresent what a speaker said in a way intended to defraud or defame;
  • upload malware, or attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service or its processing workers;
  • work around plan limits — for example with multiple free accounts, shared logins, or automated bulk signups;
  • scrape the service, or resell access to it or its processing capacity without our written agreement.

5. Plans, minutes and fair use

Minutes are consumed by transcription only. Editing, filler cleanup, clips, chapters, captions and re-exports never spend minutes.

The free plan gives you 30 transcription minutes per billing cycle, uploads up to 30 minutes long, one video processing at a time, exports at 720p with a watermark, and keeps your source media for 7 days. Paid plan limits are listed on the pricing page and are enforced exactly as shown.

Plan minutes reset each cycle and do not roll over. Top-up minutes you have paid for persist until you use them. If a transcription job fails on our side, the minutes are credited back to your balance automatically.

6. Payments and cancellation

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your full card number or UPI credentials. Prices are in Indian rupees; any USD figure shown on the pricing page is an indicative conversion, and taxes may apply.

Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. Minute top-ups are one-time purchases at ₹30 per 30 minutes — we never charge you for them automatically.

You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then moves to Free; we do not charge you again. All payments are non-refundable — please read the Refund Policy before you subscribe.

7. Storage, retention and deletion

Your source video and the intermediate files we create while processing it are deleted after your plan’s retention window (7 days on Free, 60 days on paid plans today). Your finished exports and your transcripts stay in your library until you remove them.

Deleting a project is permanent: the stored files, the transcript and the edit history go with it, and we cannot restore them. Keep your own copy of anything you care about. To close your account entirely, email contact@vidcarve.com.

8. Availability and changes to the service

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not offer an uptime guarantee. Processing depends on third-party vendors and on GPU capacity, and jobs can fail, queue or run slowly.

We may add, change or remove features, and we may change plan limits or prices. Where a change materially reduces what you already pay for, we will tell you by email before it applies to your subscription.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used for illegal content or fraud, or that is abusing free-plan limits. Where the law allows and the circumstances are not serious, we will give you a chance to download your exports first.

You may stop using the service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — content licence limits, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law — continue to apply.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that transcripts, translations, captions or generated audio will be accurate.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost goodwill, or lost or corrupted data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim — which, for a free account, is zero.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from content you upload or publish through the service, or from your breach of these terms or of any law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and we will email registered users about material changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Hyderabad have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Before starting proceedings, please write to contact@vidcarve.com — most problems are settled faster by email than by lawyers.
